Hi, I’m a bassist who’s returning to Reading in May, having been in the Watford area since 2003. During that time I’ve been studying a joint honours music course with bass as my main instrument. That’s led to me playing jazz for the first time (having been a rock/pop player before). Since Oct 2006 I’ve been the main bassist at Derek Mander’s Jazz Workshop in Croxley Green, Herts, and have done a number of jazz gigs. Looking to keep the jazz chops alive when I move back to Reading, so I hope to bring my bass along to The Wellington Arms. Currently I play electric (horizontal) bass (fretted and fretless), but would like to expand to upright: I’ve some experience on friends’ uprights, but not a great deal.
Regards,
Daren

Good to hear we have a new bassist in the area.
What sort of jazz are you into?
