Jazz ’Round About Reading is a monthly jazz listings service from Jazz in Reading. We feature mostly modern jazz gigs happening each month within 20 miles or so of Reading. Each month’s email will usually be circulated 3–5 days before the month begins. Musicians, promoters and venues should send listings information – to jazz@wordhouseonline.com – by the 20th of the preceding month.

After a few problems at the last session clashing with football – I have now sorted the next date with assurances from the landlord that no such problems can occur.
The issue has been resolved because he no longer has Sky in the pub and therefore is not physically able to show the game!
So, with that in mind I invite you all to come down to the next Jazz Jam which will be:
Wednesday 30th April
The house band starts at 7:30 and it’s great if as many as possible come down early on so we can fill the pub with musos!

I play trumpet but am also the musical director of the Innovations Jazz
Orchestra – a local Big Band.
Just found out at our rehearsal last night that our pianist will be
leaving us in a few months time – hence on the look out for a pianist
who might want to join.
