Collaboration with ‘Jazz in Reading’

I’m very excited that the Global Jazz Jam is now part of the roster of events put on by ‘Jazz in Reading’ – an organisation run by Steve Wellings and Nigel Dacombe who put on jazz events in the area and support local jam sessions.  They also make a monthly gig list of jazz in the area.

New Venue going down a storm

Thanks to everyone who has been coming down to the Global cafe since the move there.  The unanimous verdict seems to be that it’s by far the best place it’s been held and I hope we can stay there for a long time to come.

Great first night at the Global

The first jam at the Global Cafe in Reading was a great success – a really good turnout and atmosphere.  I think this is going to be a briliant new venue and thanks to all who came to play and/or listen.

New Venue and date announced!

At last details for the new venue and dates are in – first session on Wednesday 25th November at the Global Cafe in Reading.  8pm house band, 9pm-11pm jam.  PA, backline, kit provided – everyone welocome.  Free entry.

There is parking on the street in front of the Cafe and in a private car park at the rear (accessed via South Street).

Tutu’s restaurant is open til 9pm with lovely homemade Etheopian food – bar til 11pm.

While having an Autumn break – the jam session is looking for a new home.  There is something in the pipeline – keep an eye on the site for news.

Back after a break

After a break in July the Jazz Jam is back in August.  Still 7-10, would love to see loads of people there.

Jazz Jam 50th Birthday Invite

Hi Jammers, I’d like to invite you all to join in for a jazz and possibly some other music – jam session for my 50th Birthday at West End Social Club on friday 31st July.

I will need names for the guest list so that they will let you in.

The club is just down the road that goes past Lightwater from the M3, at the end of the dual carriageway go straight over the roundabout and left at first lights and you are at the back of the building.
